Amazing!

It is in my opnion, your best song ever!

Step responds:

Really? Never thought it was that good :P.

Glad you liked it!

Awesome!

Giving a look around your audios I got on mind that I would review this song but I forgot (sometime around april or may 2010) =P. So here it is my review. The instruments are perfect and the story is pretty cool. I love the rythm. One of your best songs in my opnion. I also found awesome the intro because it reminds me of your Chaoz Fantasy Remix - WIP loop.

Step responds:

Thanks dude.

The Chaoz Fantasy WiP uses the same effect and a similar sound for the intro so I can see why it reminds you of it. The sounds took me a long time to choose so I'm glad you like those :3.

Yeah even though this is such an old song I'm still very proud of it.
Thanks for reviewing!

Yay. Thanks!

Wow!

Wow how many meanings I can find in this song!? I can see DOOM, Star Wars, RPG, mystics and even Gladiator here! :P

I like how you have each part, it first starts like a mystical song (which was what I thought that it would be) and then you change to a RPG-kind, if you had a loop from it would be perfect for games! I'm sure that many people would use it in their games.

The effects and transitions are nice and the transitions too.

I really loved the part with the choral in 02:40+, they were perfect, this is the part that reminds me Star Wars =P.

I think that the pick of instruments was awesome, the bells gives the song a perfect way from the tale heroes. Awesome!

Overall:
Amazing

Decibel responds:

Haha, you mentioned a lot of sci-fi. I'm not a big fan but I know what those are =D

Yes, It is pretty RPG-ISH, i might give it to Zerok for the Denovo thing :P
Everyone likes the choir part :P.
Thanks again -

I liked the style from your song, about all the instruments looking like an egyptian/indian song, loved it! haha.

"I liked the style from your song, about all the instruments looking like an egyptian/indian song, loved it! haha. "

That's what I was trying to do. All my orchestral songs were too majestic, so I tried adding some outside influences. I'm happy that came out well.

Your review wasn't long enough, it's not fair :3.

Thanks again!

My Point is a tale!

Hey there, first of all maybe my review be a little...... different, because I am a bit rusty on reviews by now. :P

============.:REVIEW:.============

{NAME}
"Path of War" for some reason really reminds me Old West movies/games, saying seriously :P. But I can see that this music shows about something like a lonely heroe, something like a survivor from a war. Actually what I need to say here will be much more placed on 'concept'.

{CONCEPT}
The concept is really good on your audio piece, I liked how it seems to be a heroe-survivor from a war that happened. I had two thinkings, one was a soldier walking through a bunch of corpses on a desert with a shine sunny and crows. The second one, was the same heroe survivor character but when he was already an old man and he visit the place what was the battle (this happening during the beginning till the intro transition to rock on 00:20~00:25. Then he reminds from his past when was the war and the shooters and battlefields. But my favorite from all, is 02:00, this is the best part from the ENTIRE audio track, this part is AWESOME, AMAZING and WHATEVER I can call it xD
I enjoyed the fact from it shows something like a tale on your song. Nice job!

{PERCUSSION}
The percussion is really strong and smooth what gives us a good impression from a 'general rock' audio genre song, I liked that you have this kind of drum beat and plus, it have a militar drum too which gives a faster beating like a popcorn :P, it reminds us from the theme WAR from 'Path of War'. I really would like to you add some thinkers during the song, I think is just to vague sometimes (but don't put it on the entire song!), I saw that on my favorite part, a little after 2:00, I can hear some sound from a thinker (on an instrument that I don't know the name) and it was good. The sound of woods beating like in the first seconds from the song is pretty good to the intro transition. Now I can't say you did some 'mistakes' with the percussion, is everything alright! Nice job!

{AUDIO/RYTHIM}
My only critics to this piece is the fact from it be a bit repetitive, from the rock transition after some intro seconds till somewhere around the middle to final part length (00:20 ~ 01:80), you should give it some more of 'parts', I mean don't leave it equal to everything, give a look, you will see that just keep a bit repetitive. ////////// The audio is awesome, all the instruments play in perfect syncronizing and gives a lot of effects, it really sounds tridimensional some times, maybe because some effect you leaved on, the background effects are alright. You should put some french horns or trombones (brass section) during some parts as some seconds after the rock intro. /////////// Haha, one additional thing, the transition to the rock intro (00:20) really reminds something from the '80s :P, it really sounds like these 'disco' things lol

{OVERALL}
This is awesome and really gives a really good story, by the end, I also thought on an indian survivor :P The instruments are perfect choosen (could have more but is ok), you should put some brass/thinkers to be really good. Everything is so "correct" xD Nice job!

EagleGuard responds:

Wow, that's a humongous review again. xD Thanks! =)

I chose the title "Path of War" because the song itself sounded a bit war-like. I didn't really think of a story though, but I like the fact that you were able to make one up just by listening to this. =p

Glad I got the percussion right. It was quite hard to make them fit in with the rest of the song at times.

About the repetitiveness, yeh... I guess you're right, it is slightly repetitive. I'll try to work on melody and harmony a bit more in the future. The thing is, I initially wrote this for piano, and then converted it to classical/rock music, which is why it may sound a bit repetitive.

I'll see if I can add some french horns next time. =p

Once again, many thanks for the review! Glad you liked it ;)

Your song produced so much effects on Windows Media Player visualizer and did my computer crash :'(
